Nationally Recognised Training

Jigsaw Training Academy provides training programs (traineeships) for you to gain a nationally recognised qualification in a variety of fields to help your career development, and help you get that job you’ve always wanted. Work in business, Hospitality, Aged Care, Health or with Children.

If you are an Australian or New Zealand citizen, already working full time or part time and have not studied a similar course in the past seven years, you may qualify for government funding to obtain a Nationally Recognised Qualification.

Traineeships

What are Traineeships?

The words 'Trainee' and 'Apprentice' and 'Traineeship' and 'Apprenticeship' are largely interchangeable.  A 'Trainee' is someone undertaking training to achieve a Nationally Recognised Qualification while they work either part time or full time in that sector or industry.  The same can be said for an 'Apprentice' however they tend to be more in a trade such as 'Apprentice Carpenter' or 'Apprentice Hairdresser'.

At the beginning of the Traineeship, the Trainee and Employer sign a training contract that is registered with the Department of Education, Training & The Arts (in Queensland at least).  There are certain roles and responsibilities both the Trainee and Employer agree to uphold by signing this training contract including the Trainee observing the employer's instructions, actively participating in the training, and maintaining the confidentiality of information.

Our objective is to ensure a positive and mutually beneficial outcome for both the Employer and the Trainee.

By offering high quality, flexible training and support throughout the term of the traineeship, in addition to regular on-site visits to monitor the trainee's progress, we have seen great results for many Employers and Trainees.

We have achieved outstanding successes with many employers who have embedded Traineeships into their workplace to help achieve their organisational goals.  A number of our clients use Traineeships when bringing in new staff and assisting with recruitment strategies.

Commonwealth incentives may also be available for Employers taking on a Trainee.

We can also assist the Employer by organising the traineeship paperwork to be completed - Jigsaw Training Academy assists you by taking the puzzle out of training.

Our high completion rate is testament to our approach of being 'FAIR' with the Employer and Trainee:

  • F    Flexible - to fit in around the Trainees' work commitments
  • A    Adaptable - to your learning requirements and situatio
  • I    Individualised - to ensure the trainees receive the individualised tuition
  • R    Relevant - our training is relevant to their workplace and the 'real world'.

What costs are involved?

The Queensland Government, through the Department of Education, Training & The Arts, funds the majority of Traineeships though criteria do apply.

If the Trainee is not eligible for Government funding, the Employer will pay for the Traineeship fees.  This is called ‘Fee for Service’. There are different options available to the Employer when they opt for Fee for Service.

Contact Jigsaw Training Academy so we can assist you to establish if you are eligible for funding through this program.
